2 more weeks.... but who's counting

Yes, that's right. I've gone this entire pregnancy and haven't noted one thing!!! Sorry baby #2 for already sucking.  This pregancy hasn't been very exciting and therefore not much to document.  I've heard that baby #2 just might in fact be born bigger than his 8lb 11oz brother, but we shall see.  He has been very low and sitting on my pelvis for several weeks and making it hard to walk.  38 weeks along today and i'm SO.DONE. Keep you posted ;)

Speaking of the terrible things parents do...

I am currently reading this book about Andrea Yates drowning her 5 children. It's disturbing in so many ways but like a car accident, I just can't look away. I've always been into books, tv shows and classes pertaining to real life events. In middle school and high school I loved reading books about the Holocaust. In college I took a class about Serial Killers. I recently read A Stolen Life, by Jaycee Dugard about her experience living with her kidnappers for 18 years. Andrea Yates' story is no different.

What is this world coming to?

I'm so disturbed by some of the news stories out about the horrible things moms do to their children.
mom slashes throat of son to get the demons out

mom slashes the throats of two children and sets apartment of fire http://www.ksdk.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=311108
mom shots three daughters in head then kills herself
http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/311132/3/Christine-Adewunmi-was-battling-mental-illness-according-to-police?odyssey=obinsite&odyssey=obinsite
there was also a story not to long ago about a mom reporting her baby missing, they found the babies body in a field and then finally got the mom to confess that she beat the baby because he wouldn't stop crying and she was tired and wanted to sleep. She didn't report the baby missing until the following afternoon.
This really disturbs me. I could NEVER heard my child.

Good nights and bad

Ever since Xander has been "sleeping throught the night" he has had this routine of 3 or 4 really good nights followed by 3 or 4 bad nights. Let me explain the difference between good and bad nights. A good night is sleepin 8 or more hours and waking up once or not at all during the night. A bad night is anytime he wakes up 2 or more times (usually it's 3 or more). These last 2 nights have been so wonderful that when Xander has woken at his VERY NORMAL 6:30am time, he has finished his chocolate milk and fallen back to sleep till 8!! This picture was taken yesterday morning when he fell back asleep in my bed after waking at his normal time and drinking his chocolate milk. Today I actually had to wake him up at 8:20. He was not happy with me at all and it took him awhile to come to. Now if only I can get him to sleep that late on days i DON'T have to be up and getting ready for work.......

We're having a heat wave!!

It has been in the 80's the last 2 days and will continue to be above 80 degrees for the next 7 days. It is so beautiful. I guess winter's over? Xander got to play outside last night while I grilled dinner. He has some new shades from his Aunt Maggie, they have Buzz on them. I will take this Spring weather any day. We are looking forward to a beautiful St Patty's Day this Saturday as we head downtown for the parade.

Big News

I am 10 weeks along today. Patrick and I made Xander a shirt to announce it to the family. I'll get a picture soon!!! If you ask him if we are having a boy or a girl, he says GIRLS. So you ask him how many girls and he holds up the number 1. (thank goodness).

Nonus and lotlogs.

Xander is finally starting to talk alot more. He has been in speech for almost a year and he went from nearly silent to attempting just about anthing you tell him to say. Over the weekend, he really wanted lotlogs (hotdogs) for lunch and since i bought Doughnuts for breakfast, he would ask for nonus. It makes me giggle everytime he asks for something, because i competely understand what he wants.

Coloring

Xander decided this morning before leaving for the babysitters that he wanted to color. He still holds things with both his left hand and right hand. When do you know which is their dominate hand? Notice how his Dragon blanket (lovey) is looking on. He's so stinkin cute, I can't ever imagine him growing up.
